15 patents have been filed at the Indian Patents Office pertaining to cloud computing and

migration and automated software engineering by the faculty at MIET.
Ÿ 500+ research papers have been published by the faculty out of which 160 have been
included in International Journals and conferences. These papers have appeared in
reputed publications by Springer-Verlag, IEEE, ACM, InderScience, IGI Global, Taylor and
Francis etc.
Ÿ MIET has received grants over Rs. 1 Crore from national bodies such as the AICTE and DST research & development
etc towards specialized projects and creation of high-end research infrastructure such as
Blade-Servers, Spectrum Analyzers, CNC-Lathe Machines, Mobile Computing Devices and
workstations etc.
Ÿ MIET faculty along with senior faculty from UMKC, USA are involved in publication of the
"International Journal of Next-Generation Computing" a high-quality international journal in
the domain of computer science. It is indexed by Thomson Reuters, Web of Science.
Ÿ MIET consistently organizes International & National Conferences, Research Workshops,
Distinguished lectures, Innovation Workshop, Idea-Fests, Patent-Filing Training & other
activities to reiterate its commitment to promoting research.
Ÿ The IT team at MIET has carried out In-house customization and deployment of the
moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) and Campus ERP system, resulting in
significant cost savings. MIET has adopted open-source software in a big way.
Ÿ Performance Insight 360 - a cloud-based advanced analytics software for academia has
been developed and productized at MIET. This framework allows institutions to manage
quality through quantification of individual, departmental and institutional performance.
Two patents have resulted from the development of this product which is in the process of
being commercialized.
Ÿ MIET has recently started developing mobile applications for academia. Towards this end
a Center for Mobile Application Development has been setup at MIET. The Center has so
far released the official MIET mobile app, the silent zone app for mobile devices and the
smart-SMS app for context-aware, automated SMS reponses.
