● MIET achieved excellent placements for 2018 pass out batch with
average salary package of 3.0 Laks per annum. The Highest salary
package of 5.5 Lakhs per annum was offered by HP. Seven R&D
Interns selected by Infineon, Bengaluru from MIET were regularized
at a package of 11 Lakhs per annum during 2017.
● In 2017 Prince Sumberia from Computer Science and Engineering
program won the ICDL Asia Digital Skills Competition at Singapore student activities
beating contestants from 7 Asian Countries. He initially topped the
ICDL competition across India and represented India at Singapore.

● Sumant Pangotra and Suave Bajaj from CSE won the Best Student
Innovator Award at the 2017 India Innovation Initiative held by
AICTE, DST and CII. They won a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 beating 2000
project entries across India. Their project was a fake news detection
application for mobile message sharing applications.

● MIET finished in the "Top 30 Colleges" in the country in the IBM TGMC
(The Great Minds Challenge) 2012 and 2013 which is India's largest
project competition. It figured in the "Top 50 Colleges" in 2014 out of
2500 engineering colleges across India.

● Student-organized SAMMILAN is the largest technical cum cultural
festival in J&K, the tenth edition of which was successfully organized
during 2018, featuring Nalayak-The Band and Progressive Brothers
who are well known proponents of Electronic Dance Music in India.
● Student chapters of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers), ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and CSI
(Computer Society of India), organize high quality technical events.
