CricInfo - A Tech History Prayaas - NSS Unit Activities

Dr. Neeran Karnik - Feb. 2019

CSE Department in association with the ACM Student Chapter at MIET organized
the ACM Eminent Speaker Programme at MIET on 1st February 2019. Dr. Neeran
Karnik Co-Founder of CricInfo and Principal Architect Tarana Wireless was the
distinguished speaker on the occasion. Dr. Karnik provided a brief overview on
CricInfo, the first and still popular cricket resource online which was born in 1993 in
the pre-web days of the Internet. The talk described technology innovations in
CricInfo and cited very early examples of process innovations as well, what we
know today as crowdsourcing, that went in building this online cricket portal which
provided real-time cricket score updates using globally-dispersed servers, limited
bandwidth, primitive protocols and efforts of hundreds of cricket enthusiast and NSS Unit observed “National Vigilance Week-2019” from The NSS unit of MIET observed Campus Cleanliness
volunteers across the world. 28th October, 2019 to 2nd November, 2019 with the theme Drive in September with theme "SWACHHATA
"Integrity - a way of life". PAKHWADA 2019".

Nov. 2019 Oct. 2019 Apr. 2019 which 100 units of blood was collected. Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu.

Associate Professor, SMVDU Engineer PWD, J&K Manager Defence Workshop along with the students of Middle School Amb, Jammu and School, Amb Village. MCA students conduct classes for
Mechanics and its Application Construction of Bikram Chowk Research Issues in Antenna and
Sept. 2019 Flyover - Jan. 2019 Radar - Nov. 2019 organised a cultural program with the school students. the students as they do not have a computer teacher.
