           under a Seed Grant to the Civil Engineering
           department, it uses specialized rainwater
           filters for filtering roof-top rainwater. Currently
 150  HOURS OF  200  HOURS OF  20  HOURS OF  16,000 liters of filtered rainwater can be

           stored and utilized. The vision is to harvest
           and store 1 Lakh liters of filtered rainwater
           over the next 2 years. The entire project was
           executed by the college engineering support
           team along with students & faculty.


 BIS Standards Club Started by


 MIET Civil Engineering Students

 Model Institute of Engineering &
 Technology (Autonomous), Jammu
 MIET Civil Engineering department has started a Standards Club in
 STANDARDS CLUB  association with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to promote
 “Nurturing Ambassadors of  awareness among society about the standards that are set for various
 Standards & Quality”
 products, services, processes and materials in India. The club will also
 provide a platform for the students to interact and discuss various
 aspects of standards and to spread awareness about them.

 STANDARDS
 (The National Standards Body of India)
           MIET in keeping with its commitment to adopting "Green Practices", has installed a Sewage Treat-
           ment Plan (STP) of 10,000 litres per day capacity. This is the first of its kind STP implementation in
           any higher education institution in J&K using Japanese Johkasou technology for sewage treatment
 exposure visit at  Door-to-Door Campaign  and reuse, which uses low energy for STP processing. The plant has successfully started generating
 “Shakti Steel India limited”  of Standards Club of MIET  ample treated water which is being used for watering the gardens & other miscellaneous uses.
