MIET Jammu students Tulsi Sharma (ECE) and Harsh Gujral (EE) proudly represented the institute at the prestigious Mitsubishi Electric India Cup, hosted at MIT World Peace University, Pune.
They presented their innovative project, the Smart Apple Sorter System — an AI-driven solution that integrates computer vision with a custom-built Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to automate post-harvest apple grading and sorting. The system enhances accuracy, reduces manual effort, and improves efficiency in agricultural processing.
The project received strong appreciation from the jury and visitors for its technological excellence and real-world relevance in smart farming applications.
This achievement reflects MIET’s strong focus on AI innovation, research-driven learning, and industry-oriented education, inspiring students to develop impactful technological solutions.
