Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Jammu, has achieved several significant recognitions from apex bodies in Indian higher education. It holds Autonomous Status conferred by the University Grants Commission (UGC), making it the first technical institution in the Union Territory of J&K to receive this honor. MIET is also accredited with an “A” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), highlighting its academic excellence, green campus, and strong R&D culture. Furthermore, its CSE Department is NBA-accredited, reflecting the institute’s adherence to high-quality academic standards. MIET has also been recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for innovation and digital excellence.

Among its many accolades, MIET received the Digital Campus Excellence Award at the Economic Times EduTech Awards for innovation in digitization and campus automation. It was also honored with the New Code of Education Award 2021 for being one of the top autonomous colleges in India for digital excellence.

MIET was ranked 51st among India’s top 100 tech-enabled engineering colleges by DataQuest Magazine, and earlier featured as the first J&K institution in the Top 100 T-Schools, ranked 72nd in 2020. Its School of Management was ranked 52nd in India by Business Today in the Return-on-Investment category.

The institute’s homegrown analytics platform, Performance Insight 360, earned MIET the QCI D.L. Shah Platinum Award and the Ricoh Education Excellence Award for enabling technology in student services. This innovation also secured MIET a spot in the Top 9 Innovators at the India Innovation Initiative by AICTE, DST, and CII.

Additionally, MIET received the Outstanding Technical Institution Award from NITTTR Chandigarh and was listed among the Top 50 Institutions by IBM during TGMC-2013 for its real-world impactful student projects. These recognitions underscore MIET’s leadership in quality education, innovation, and digital transformation.
