Overview

MIET, in collaboration with UltraTech Cement, has established its first Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Jammu & Kashmir, located at the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) in Kot Bhalwal. This CoE focuses on advanced building materials and sustainable practices in the construction industry, aiming to enhance the quality and sustainability of civil work in the region

Key aspects of the UltraTech CoE at MIET:

Focus on advanced materials:
The CoE features models showcasing various building materials, including Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC), advanced concrete and cement products, tiling solutions, chemical waterproofing, and new construction materials.
Educational and technical support:
The CoE provides educational materials and technical expertise to the civil engineering community.
Technical events and training:
MIET organizes technical seminars, workshops, conferences, and training programs under the CoE to support the region’s civil engineering professionals.
Sustainability and UN SDGs:
The CoE emphasizes the importance of adopting sustainable practices in construction, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Research and development:
MIET actively encourages faculty and students to engage in research in emerging fields of construction technology, including the establishment of an Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) student chapter.
