MIET organized an extension and outreach program for 60 girl students and 15 Faculty members from the Government Higher Secondary School of Kot Bhalwal.
The event featured an institutional presentation highlighting educational offerings of MIET and student achievements, information on the New Education Policy followed by a campus tour that included a visit to the Mitsubishi Factory Automation lab for a robotic arm demonstration.
 
The students were motivated to interact and ask questions related to choosing the right career path. Additionally, students had the chance to explore various campus facilities such as the Sports Common Room, Library, Computer Labs, STP, Rain Water Harvesting, Lab Block, Workshop Block and Outdoor Sports Facilities.

Scholarship Day 2022-23 was organized today at Campus, felicitating 110 first-year students from all Departments - CSE, Civil, ECE, BBA (Hons.), B.Com (Hons.), BBA LLB (Hons.), MBA, and MCA who received merit-based scholarships for the year 2022-23.
The event witnessed the distribution of institute scholarship cheques worth Rs 14 lakhs, including scholarships for single girl children.
Prof Rajni Kant, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, graced the event as the chief guest, appreciating MIET's efforts in providing scholarships and encouraging students to excel.
 
Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET, welcomed the dignitaries, emphasizing the Institute's commitment to creating a supportive academic environment. He highlighted the Institute's commitment to providing financial support to meritorious and deserving students through various scholarship schemes.
Prof.Rajni Kant in his keynote address encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunities provided by the Institute and to continue striving for excellence in their academic pursuits. He spoke extensively about the evolving attitudes and trends in higher education and the broader society which are causes for concern. He reminded the students of their obligations and duties toward their parents, teachers, and other significant individuals in their lives who are all well-meaning. He urged all students to shift their mindset from confrontation to discussion and debate mode and be open to perspectives that are different from their own. This mindset shift would lead to more harmony and less strain in personal relationships.
Prof.Rajni Kant also highlighted the significant role played by the MIER Group in strengthening the private higher education ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. He wished the students all the best for continued success in their professional journeys.
The event was attended by other dignitaries, including Major General (Retd.) Prof. S.K Sharma, Prof. G.S. Sambyal and Dr. Sahil Sawhney besides other faculty members.

EDUMEET ON FACTORY AUTOMATION

MIET in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric organized a one-day EduMeet on Factory Automation at MIET Campus.

The EduMeet, sponsored by Mitsubishi, provided a unique platform to bring together experts from the industry and academia, to encourage the exchange of productive ideas and perspectives for meeting the skilling needs of industry professionals and graduating students in the region.The EduMeet witnessed participation from 60 delegates from Industry and Academia. The participating organizations included Uflex, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Sunrise Infrastructure, IIT Jammu, SMVDU Katra, GCET, Jammu, Govt. Polytechnic, Jammu, and Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri.

Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET in his welcome address spoke about the rapid transformation triggered by technology in the field of automation and lauded the commitment and continued support received from Mitsubishi Electric in establishing a state of art training facility at MIET. He encouraged all the industry partners and academic institutions in the region to utilize the Factory Automation Lab Facility at MIET.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vikram Mattoo, General Manager, Factory Automation Centre, Mitsubishi Electric India, provided an overview of Mitsubishi Electric’s innovations in enabling Industry 4.0. He spoke at length about MEI’s products and services, and its CSR initiatives based on its corporate mission to further its ties with educational institutions in India.

The event proceeded with the Keynote Addresses delivered by distinguished academicians including Prof. Rakesh Singhai, Senior Professor IIT Jammu, Dr. Himanshu Patel, HOD IC Engineering, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Ms.Vijaya Mair, Associate Dean, CVR College of Engineering Hyderabad, Dr.Ajay Abrol, Associate Prof, GCET Jammu and Dr.Anup Shukla, Assistant Prof, IIT Jammu.
