Profile
Prof. Ashok Aima has worked as Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu w.e.f 17th April 2015 to 25th November 2021.Prof. Aima has 41 years of experience of teaching, research, consultancy and as a motivational cum faculty development trainer. He had his post graduation in Economics and M.com from University of Kashmir & doctoral degree from University of Jammu on the topic Manpower & Regional Panning. Worked as Lecturer in Department of Commerce, Kashmir University from 1981 to 1986 and as Reader in the Department of Management Studies, Jammu University and professor in the year 1999. He held position of Dean Faculty of Management (3 times), Rector Udhampur and Kathua Campus besides being Director of Ramnagar & Reasi campus and Patnitop Outreach Centre. Prof. Aima also held the post of Chief –Coordinator of 9 Satellite campuses of Jammu University besides holding post of Professor & Head of Human Resource Management in Central University. Prof. Aima has published more than 100 research papers in national and international journals besides co-authoring 7 books on various contemporary management themes. He has supervised more than 33 doctoral research programmes and is also supervising another 03 scholars. Prof. Aima has been invited as keynote speaker by snearly 8 different foreign universities and is invited speakers in more than 30 national institutions. Prof Aima was member of number of committees constituted by state and Central Govt. viz. Prime Minister’s (GOI) 2nd Working Group on Improving Cross Boarder Relations-2006, Core Group (J&K Government) on Public Enterprises (2002-2005), Member Committee to Frame J&K State Trade Policy-2001, Participated in Round Table Conference (Interlocutors appointed by GOI) – 2010. Prof Aima visited number of countries & foreign universities University of Wisconsin-Madison California State University - San Bernardino California, Skyline University-Dubai, Uzbekistan,, Sri Lanka ICT –Shanghai (China, Bangkok (Thailand) NU Singapore and NTU Singapore (2006), LUMS Lahore,, PUGWASH meeting at Islamabad, besides being associated with various NGO’s actively engaged with Peace Initiatives and Conflict Resolution in J&K State. Prof Aima is as well a member of Global Consultancy Project. He has visited over 60 institutions as Chairman/Coordinator NAAC Peer Team & as well as Chairman of NBA(AICTE). Prof. Aima is recipient of many awards and honors’. He is an active member of various national committees constituted by the MHRD, Government of India and Government of Jammu & Kashmir, and is on the boards of many National and State Universities.
